What to wear if you're going to the Salar de Uyuni

What clothing should I bring for a trip?

You should bring layers of clothing to handle the wide range of temperatures. During the day, it can be warm, so light clothing is advisable. At night, temperatures can drop significantly, so you'll need warm clothes such as a fleece, thermal underwear, a down jacket, gloves, and a hat. Waterproof clothing is also recommended during the rainy season.

Our tour provide lunch, but it's a good idea to bring some snacks for the journey if you like.

What kind of footwear is best for Bolivia?

Comfortable and sturdy walking shoes or hiking boots are essential for exploring the salt flats and other rugged terrains. Waterproof shoes are recommended if you visit during the wet season when the salt flats are covered with a thin layer of water. Also a slipper is a good option.

Do I need to bring cash?

Yes, it's advisable to bring cash in Bolivian Bolivianos (BOB) since credit card facilities may not always be available, especially in remote areas. ATMs are available in Tiwanaku, but it's good to have enough cash for your entire trip. How much? 50 BOB is enough.
